INHABIT
InHabit aims to bring a design focused ethos to the current developer dominated market which benefits strongly from a horizontal business model, where we share ideas and allow a more collaborative and cohesive solution which will be implemented at every stage of the process.
InHabit builds upon strong foundations formed with Melbourne-based firm Breathe Architects to capture the Sydney social economy. By designing and building environments that are social driven for the people to the climate in which they like. Four members took on this responsibility and anchor down pivotal aspects driving the success.
Our firm is Multidisciplinary, with lots of experience in education, hospitality, commercial and residential architecture, across leading architectural firms such as Norma Fosters and Partners, BIG, and Zaha Hadid Architects.
Our InHabit model is a turnkey, full architectural service, focussing on low-medium density projects.
InHabit is made up of four primary sectors:
-
Network and marketing
-
Landscape and Environmental Planning
-
Architecture and Development
-
Project Management
Project Management
The most desirable part of any ambitious project is an experienced project manager who appreciates the stakeholders and coordinates all sectors to make sure the task is not only achievable but deliverable for the right budget and deadline. Luckily ours is in house, with Josh McMartin overseeing all onsite development.
Our vision wouldn’t be possible without lead consultants that desired the same outcomes and high-quality standard. Partridge Engineers have worked alongside many fantastic and award-winning projects and are right firm to work in association with.
It can’t be understated how essential our partnerships are in a harmonious and succinct project delivery. As Mentioned previously, Breathe Architects have paved the way with their Nightingale Model which InHabit is using as precedent for new developments in Sydney City.
Working with great Landscape Architects are also critical in the development of the schemes. Although we have a sector focusing on Landscape Planning, we are taking on a large amount of responsibility and overall workload through taking on client’s role and financial backing. Having a trusting landscape partnership to guide and take the design into the development and construction phases are essential in the progression and allow an external opinion and perspective to help mould the final outcome.
Network and Marketing
We understand that continual business and success is driven through branding and reach of which it can stretch into the surrounding market. Combined with forming strong connections with like-minded firms across multiple disciplines for not only continual work but in achieving the best final outcome, which we believe is when all parties are invested in the process and project.
Landscape and Environmental Planning
The local context is everything, from the populace to the flora and fauna.
From the offset we interview residents, and study the local area's history because having a deep understanding of everyone and everything is essential to sustainable design.
We use our knowledge and experience to create open and intimate spaces, giving back to the community and allowing all inhabitants to thrive.
Architecture and Development
Architecture and development work in conjunction with Landscape and Environments but look to transition these ideas into a habitable built environment.
We lead by example to challenge the construction industry to be better.
Through cutting edge competition designs to fundamental sustainable projects, InHabit is paving the way forward in the new age design world.
